First Nations Summit mourns the passing of Murray Sinclair

(xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh)/ Vancouver, BC) — It is with great sadness that First Nations Summit leaders learned of the passing earlier today of prominent Anishinaabe knowledge keeper, lawyer, judge and former senator, Murray Sinclair, C.C., O.M., M.S.C., in Winnipeg.

Murray Sinclair’s death marks a huge loss, not only for his own community of Peguis First Nation, but for First Nations across Canada. He will be remembered as a highly respected leader in the many capacities he held over the past 50 plus years.
