Coast Salish Territory/ Vancouver, BC – The First Nations Summit congratulates the Tla’amin First Nation leaders, negotiators and members on the signing of their modern day treaty agreement with Canada and British Columbia.
“Following twenty years of hard fought negotiations, the Tla’amin people should be commended for their hard work and determination to reach a final agreement that is appropriate for, and supported by, their people”, said Robert Phillips, a member of the First Nations Summit political executive. “Today marks the start of a new path forward for the Tla’amin as they move forward as a self-governing nation.”
