Coast Salish Territory (Vancouver, BC) – The First Nations Summit (FNS) congratulates Jody Wilson-Raybould (Puglaas) on her 1st ballot re-election as BC Regional Chief of the BC Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN).
Regional Chief Wilson-Raybould, whose traditional name is Puglaas, is from the Musgamagw Tsawataineuk and Laich-Kwil-Tach Peoples of Northern Vancouver Island. She is a citizen and a council member for We Wai Kai Nation. She will be serving her second consecutive three year term as Regional Chief of the BCAFN.
“We are very pleased that Regional Chief Wilson-Raybould received such a strong mandate to continue her work for a second three year term”, said Chief Doug White, member of the First Nations Summit Political Executive. “We look forward to working with her over the next three years to ensure the critical issues that our nations and people face are addressed in close coordination with National AFN Chief Shawn Atleo”.
