UBC President Santa J. Ono delivered a statement of apology for the university’s involvement in the system that supported the operation of Indian residential schools in Canada. The Apology was read at the official opening of the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre (IRSHDC) on UBC’s Vancouver campus, located on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Musqueam people.
