North Vancouver, BC — Premier Christy Clark will deliver an address to the First Nations Summit meeting in North Vancouver on Thursday June 9th at 10 am. Premier Clark will be joined by the Hon. Mary Polak, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, to talk with the Summit Chiefs about treaty negotiations and other provincial initiatives affecting First Nations. This will be Premier Cark’s first opportunity to meet with First Nations Summit Chiefs and leaders since taking office.

The First Nations Summit meeting, which takes place from June 8-10, 2011 at the Squamish Nation Chief Joe Mathias Centre in North Vancouver, brings together leaders of First Nations currently engaged in treaty negotiations in BC.

Leader of the Opposition, Adrian Dix will also be addressing the Summit on Thursday at 1:00 PM. This will mark the first opportunity for Mr. Dix to attend a First Nations Summit meeting since becoming Leader of the NDP.
